What is
FABERThe Forum for Active Built Environments Research (FABER) is an annual event aiming to promote and disseminate knowledge and good practices on sustainable development of urban areas with a focus on mobility. In 2022 the event will take place in Tirana and is embedded in the strategy of the local government to improve the active mobility network through an ambitious program to upgrade cycling and pedestrian infrastructure citywide.

OpportunitiesTirana, the capital of Albania lies in a dynamic region and has gone the first step toward entering the European Union.
FABER 2022 focuses on active mobility since this is one of the key mobility targets of the local government. However, through our discussions with local partners, we identified that Albania and the countries in the region (North Macedonia and Kosovo) have a large demand to improve their mobility systems overall.

FABER is structured as a platform for decision-makers of the government with policy-making competence to meet with experts in the field and the industry, maximising the impact and accelerating the process to improve the region’s mobility infrastructure. Representatives of the infrastructure of Kosovo and North Macedonia and from the municipalities of Prishtina and Skopje will attend the event and a business dinner organised for sponsors and partners willing to exchange experience and discuss business opportunities in the region.
